Fundraising for Calling Cape Town Challenge 2027
About Zack Waters
b I'm a final-year BCom student at Stellenbosch, a national surf lifesaver and swimmer, and a lifeguard and Squad Leader at Clifton SLSC. I've spent my life in the water looking out for others, and now I'm taking that onto land too. Away from the beach, I chair the Lifesaving South Africa Athletes Commission and sit on the SASCOC Athletes Commission, working to give athletes a voice in how their sport is run. I've also co-founded a few event and media businesses along the way, and I work in compliance at Fynbos Money. The Robben Island swim is home turf for me. The Cycle Tour and three peaks through the night? That's where it gets interesting. I'm doing Calling Cape Town because I believe in pushing my limits for something bigger than myself, and helping learners from low-income communities get an education is about as big as it gets.

Calling Cape Town was started by passionate South Africans set on tackling one of the country’s biggest challenges - giving the majority of its children access to quality education.
Every athlete and volunteer takes on the challenge to raise funds for Calling Education, which has proven that you can run an independent high school delivering top-quality education for around R8,000 a year - from 60 learners in 2018 to more than 700 across three campuses today.
- 700+

- R8k

Calling Education is a registered PBO (930055017).
